Poetry Festival

For budding poets and poetry lovers, the Academic Booster Club's poetry festival, held in late winter or early spring, celebrates the joy of the spoken word.

Students in grades K through 6 can read an original poem of their own or a favorite poem by another writer in this noncompetitive event held annually since 2002.

Following the event, all poems are posted in the Nutley Public Library and on the Academic Booster Club web site and are collected in a commemorative booklet distributed to all participants.

Festivals also include entertainment, with guests as varied as local poet Pat Ritacco, the celebrated Pushcart Players, and a performance by the Bard himself, William Shakespeare.
