Science/History Fairs

“Equipped with his five senses, man explores the universe around him and calls this adventure Science.” – Edwin Powell Hubble

"If men could learn from history, what lessons it might teach us! "– Samuel Taylor Coleridge

Held in alternating years (generally in February or March), the well-attended history and science fairs offer students in grades K-6 an exciting opportunity to create and display projects and to compete for recognition by grade. Students develop a deeper appreciation of these subjects by working in groups or individually to share their knowledge and creativity with parents, teachers, and classmates.

The fairs also feature a wide variety of interactive entertainment, from a dry ice demonstration and a hands-on reptile exhibit to a performance by “Ben Franklin” and a knight in full armor. In addition, the fairs offer experiments and crafts tables, book sales, refreshments, and much more.

Adults and children of all ages are welcome to attend our upcoming Science Fair. We also welcome suggestions of new ideas, including performers, demonstrations and exhibits. To volunteer at one of our fairs, contact us. The next History Fair will take place Saturday March 24, 2012..
